Supervision

Supervision

Supervision is an essential space for therapists to discuss both their clinical work as well as organisational issues. We believe that it should provide the opportunity for the growth and development of the therapist whilst protecting the safety and confidentiality of the client. A robust supervisory frame helps the supervisee to feel secure enough to freely and honestly explore their thoughts and feelings about what is occurring both in the therapy and supervisory processes, as well as the dynamic interplay between the two. Sessions will include attention to theory and technique, transference and counter-transference, as well as the ethical, diversity and legal issues involved in client work.

Together we have extensive experience of supervising in the NHS as well as in private practice. We can offer both 1:1 and group supervision for people working with both individuals and groups. We are also approved to offer supervision to people studying for the Counselling Psychology Doctorate at Teesside University.

In addition we can offer consultation around more specific clinical and organisational issues.
